We selected the Trail-Air Pin Box on our order sheet, but it appears from dealer inventory pictures that this is actually the Tri-Glide?

The standard pin box says "Trail Air" on it. In my opinion....get the Tr-Glide. Mine came with the standard hitch and last week I switched it over to the Tri-Glide. WOW What a difference in ride quality. Also a real plus is that with the Tri-glide you can get the front storage door open where the batteries and generator are while you're hooked up to the truck. That's because the Tri-Glide adds about 8 inches to the pin box.

The build form is inaccurate --confusing! As Dave said, it says "Trail Air" but means "Tril Glide". After all this time, You'd think they would make that clearer. Go figure!

That's great news!

Thanks all. That is one heck of aprice in the scheme of things - the build sheet calls out $613 MSRP. Even without discounts it's a discount.

The 8" may also let me retire this slider!

The tri-glide also gives you more clearance between the bed-rails and the trailer. This really helps when you're backing up or down a hill.

It doesn't cause you to run high on the nose of the trailer does it? With that additional vertical clearance I mean.

No, but the hitch is adjustable for height. When my rig is hooked up, everything sits level and I have about 7-8 inches from the bed rails to the underside of trailer. And my F350 with the FX4 and the 20's sits high. I'm using a PullRite Super Slider 18k hitch.

I just got off the Lippert website and there have been improvements to this pin box. The original pin box was named the 'Trail Air', it was improved and called the 'Tri-Glide Tail Air' pin box. Since Dave actually modified his pin box I can only assume these are different products. But I can't tell if the original product is discontinued or still available. I guess what I am trying to say is that I willclarify this with my dealer.

We got our BR last May and have this system... they call it the Tri Glide Air Ride Pin Box by Trailair on the brochure I got. The standard pin is a Trailair Rota-Flex pivoting head pin box. Confused yet?

It looks like a great system. The only down side is it adds 190 lbs direct to the pin weight.

Our F450 dually came with Firestone Ride rite air bags. Is the upgraded pin box a good idea? We've heard pros n cons. Can it be added later easily n economically?

It looks like to add it later could be 1100 or so.

$1,100 - and then you have to install it... ugh.
To anyonenegotiating or who recently ordered, why notorder the option from Redwood - sincetheyonly charge you for the difference between Rotoflex and the TriGlide upgrade and install it for free. Then, even that will be further discounted by the % off MSRP that you negotiate with the dealer. Even after I signed and deposited my order, my dealer added upgrades (with permission from Redwood) at the same discount that I had negotiated during the sales cycle.
It's nice when it comes factory installed and you don't have to rent a transmission jack, etc.
I heard that thing weighs hundreds...

Air bags on the TV shouldn't be a problem, what I understand is that it's not good to mix an Air Ride Hitch with an Air Pin Box. That they tend to work against each other, so generally they say either go with an Air Ride Hitch or an Air Ride Pin Box, but not both. Now don't quote me, I'm only going by what I'ver read on other Forums over the years.

The original pin box weighs about 100 lbs so you actually only add about 90 lbs.
