Vanity Tile

The wife wanted tile so she now has beautiful glass tile. It looks so good we may do the complete kitchen splash over including the areas without the fake tile.

That is beautiful! Nice touch.

I'm all for the glass tile, but never again behind the cooktop for me. Too hard the clean the grout and looks kind of shabby after a while. I like my fake stuff

I have been thinking about doing back splash tile, stone, or glass. I am a tile contractor actually. My concern always is grout cracking. Did you grout what you did? I was thinking about doing interlocking stone. Just wondering how you did yours? Did you use a mastic or thin set to adhere to the wall? I was thinking I'd have to put sheet rock on the wall or cement board. Maybe I don't?

Andy,
I'm also a contractor and tile is one of my specialty trades. Build a lot of showers also.
It's glass tile on a mesh backer and I went right over the wallboard figuring it seems strong enough for a small splash and not much to loose if there is an issue but I'm sure there won't be. No mastic or thin set since it will crack. I used straight silicone with a nice bead on each tile. Let it set up and I used the color match caulk of choice that is used for all tile corners. Plenty of flex but it is a bit messy cleaning it off since it is caulk and not grout.

Steve that's a great idea. I'll install it the same way
Maybe I'll do some in this current RV . I'd like to do the kitchen splash. Not very big. See how it holds up and then decide what to do when we get a new RV next spring.
Color match caulk is a good idea. I was thinking using LVT grout as it is basically a pail of caulk. But maybe color match tile caulk a better idea.
Thanks

I think the LVT would do just about the same since it does stay a bit pliable but I happen to have the color match here. Unless I had the LVT here I didn't want to pay the price for that little splash. Kitchen I would use that.

It looks very nice.

So Piper Guy, that's an outdoor TV, the wine cooler, and the glass backsplash for the bathroom. That should keep you puttering for a while. :-).

Oh and a new mattress please!!!
