Does anyone know the # for the water filter? I am not going to be in the area of my dealer soon and would like to replace, oops or should I say install. The filter apparently was not installed when the make ready was done. Jeff

Look in your owners bag. The filter should be there, along with the wrench

It's a Pentek C1 filter.
It looks like a standard 2 1/2" x 10" carbon filter that you can find at Lowe's or Home Depot.

If it wasn't installed there should be one in your Redwood bag or in one of the drawers along with a plastic specialty wrench to install it.

I installed mine on the weekend ... no biggie, just made sure my city
water hose line was off and turned off the pump. Took pressure off the
system via the hose at the outside panel.
Crawled inside the basement and loosened the sump (filter housing) with
the wrench. Get both arms inside the panel because you will need to
hold the top of the housing with one hand while loosening the sump with
the other. Why? Because my housing was attached with a small block of
wood and a single screw that allows the whole housing to simply rotate.
Bit of water spillage but no biggie ... maybe a cupful. Drop the new
cartridge into the housing and tighten it back up ... by hand only.
Don't use the wrench to reinstall as you don't need that much force.
I noticed the "manual" (okay it was small piece of paper in the binder)
mentioned that the sump should be replaced every 10 years, so I added
the current date and 10 year date on the sump with a marker.
I also added a sticky label on the access door and noted down the date that I changed the filter.
Wiped up the water inside the panel and job done!

We were looking forward to having the water filter system, however, when we picked up our trailer last week the technician told us that if we let the trailer set for more than 4 or 5 days without using it the filter would go bad and begin to mold. We are not full timers and our unit can sit for a couple of weeks with no activity. Has anyone had any issues like this occur? He basically talked me out of using the filter system that came with the Redwood and using an in-line filter from Walmart.

If this be the case I wonder if you took the filter out after each use an dried it out and stored it in a plastic air tight container until your next trip would work?

That probably would. He did advise us if we touched the filter with our hands it would ruin it. Seems like a like of trouble for something we hoped was automatic. One of those little things you do not know about beforehand.

This sounds possible, but why would they even offer a system that this could happen and this filter for all practical purposes is and inline...is it because the way the walmart brand is made or is it because you take it out after each use?...Ask Brian Emmons at 1-574-457-7811

Not real sure. I believe the Walmart is a charcoal filter which hooks to the hose prior to the trailer. They reportedly last for an entire season. Just took delivery on Saturday so am still going through items but based on what the technician said we will not use the factory in-line filter. Ours sits stationary most of the time.

The problem "might" arise if you fill the system and then drain it and
allow air into the filter. If the system is pressurized and then you
move and re-pressurize a day or two later I would not think there would
not be an issue.
Anyone have experience with pressure status when left stationary without pump or city connection?
As long as there are no leaks in the system ... no issue. You would
know that air is into the system if you depressurize ... pressurize some
time later and air is expelled from the taps. If there is no air
released after the dormant period then again, no issue.

I will give the manufacturer a call and see. Since ours sits stationary and always connected to a water supply then perhaps I do not need to worry about it. Thanks for the input.
