window knobs

One thing that is anoying me is the window knobs sticking out from the window so far that it makes it dificult to move the shades over them. Is there a shallow knob avalible? Thanks.

In 3 years of full-time living in ours, I've never noticed that to be a problem.

It's never bothered me, but you could remove them like I do at our house and just keep a few in some drawers when you want to open a window.

I don't know if there is a shallow knob; but that would be nice! I usually lower the shades to just above the knobs.

My windows always stick to the weatherstrips. If the knobs were any smaller, I could never crank them open. As it is now, I have to crank them hard (they don't move) then twenty second later, I hear them unstick. Is there a weatherstip grease that won't deteriorate the window seals?

Use silicone spray on a rag and wipe down the seal surfaces from time to time.

fifth Time: the tech who did my PDI warned me not to crank on the handle, but to just turn the knob to apply some pressure and let it "pop", then open it. But I have not tried the silicone treatment which sounds good too.
