When we were at the Escapees Boot Camp, we too had a fulltimer tell us the 2x2x2 rule. He also said if you haven't spent a month in a state, then you probably missed something.
Our plan will probably be closer to 300 miles a day, but like the idea of stopping early enough to setup, eat and chill out.

We also tow between 200 to 250 miles a day, except the first and last day so we can drive through Massachusetts, CT and NY without a stop. As far as reservations, Holidays and longer stays only. Never been a problem except if we find a good place and want to stay longer. We stop at Escapees parks when we can, Good Sam's and KOA's. We've found the consistency of KOA's better than the Good Sam's parks. Found some great KOAs. That being said, we usually will stop at a Walmart or state or county park for our one nighters.

We've been doing about 300 miles a day (5-6 hours) and it has felt like a sane rhythm. Means we don't have to get up really early and we get to set up for the night with plenty of time to do dinner and relax.

Looking forward to when we can ease back like that
I guess it all depends on the driver, the tow setup, and the roads. IF the tow vehicle and rv handles the roads well - it's easier to make the miles...
Also, for us that still must work and carry the smartphones and the computers... we have to push a bit more...
thankfully, we both don't mind driving and with good audiobooks to pass the miles when the conversation wanes... we can DO the 10 hour days....
so us landlocked Texuns can enjoy places like Hilton Head RV Park and Marina

It does make a difference when driving the rig isn't a fight. I've said many times on the forum....these trailers sure do pull nice.

Just got back from there two weeks ago (fly vacation), great area! Spent a lot of our time in Savanna and Tybee Island as well. I didn't go in the RV park though.

We ALMOST stayed on Tybee, but Hilton Head had both natural and man made beauty !
the rv park was STUNNING (one of our party had a site on the water)
and Savannah was fun to tour...
will post pictures later...

Savannah, Tybee & HH are such beautiful locations. There's also a nice state park in the area, Skidaway Island State Park, it is a very nice park.

You are right Dave. The trailer tows like it's on rails behind the RAM. It truly is a pleasure to tow it except for many of the other drivers on the road.much of our towing has been along the coast from Maine to Texas. Too many cities. I suspect driving in the interior of the country with fewer exits and cities, 300 to 400 miles would be easily done. But, we are not in any hurry to get to wherever we might land.
