We just finished a few days at Desoto State Park in Fort Payne, Al. What a great place, by far and away the nicest park we have visited in the last year and a half. Completely refurbished about two years ago. Here's what we experienced. Nice paved roads, nice wide sites, sites are a minimum of sixty feet long, picnic tables, fire rings. Their website says 16' wide, that is just the drive where you park, the sites are 30' to 40' apart. All of the back in sites are designed by someone who knows how to make it easy to back a big rig in, amazing! Full hook-ups, 30 and 50 amp, cable tv. The deer were everywhere. Can't say the lodge restaurant was that great, but it will do. Located close to Alabama Fan Club museum. Several restaurants within 10 miles. A great place to just relax, very quiet! One Note, don't follow your GPS
, take Exit 222 off of I-59 and just follow the signs to the park. Enjoy!
