First Trip in New Fifthwheel

Our first trip in our 2015 38GK was to Tombstone Territorial RV Park in December 2014 . Park is between Tombstone, Sierra Vista, and Benson, Arizona on Highway 82. We had some minor issues, but overall our Redwood did very well. We were spotted immediately by other people as soon as we entered the park. Several people came over to look at our fifth wheel. There was another Redwood in the park that I believe was a year or more old. Nice people from Canada.

Our fifth wheel now at Camping World having the warranty issues fixed

That's awesome Terry and Nina! Beautiful setup you have there! Hard to imagine you wouldn't turn heads! Yes, that's one thing we have to tolerate... being stared at, pointed at... People are always curious about it. It's so pretty! Glad things went well. It takes a few trips to get the hang of it for sure, and we are still doing that. We stay parked a lot so each time we travel it's a new adventure!

Terry and Nina, wow, that is a beautiful rig. I'm sure everyone wanted to see it. Looks like you have all the bells and whistles. I'm a Redwood owner, and I would want to see it if you pulled into the campground I was in. Enjoy!! Wasn't Tombstone fun?!

Congratulations on your first trip and your new rig! Looks great! Hope you have many safe miles with it and make a trip to the Redwood Rally in August! It's something to see all our fellow owners there taking over the park! Great time!

Very nice. Looking forward to posting my first camping pictures as soon as we finally get some warmer weather. Hope we don't have to wait too much longer.

Terry & Nina,
Congrats our your new coach. We too will be getting the GK next March, god willing. I'm interested in the color of your truck matching up with the reddish graphics on your Redwood. We have been looking at the GMC in their Sonoma Red color. Also what were the needed repairs you are having done? And, who did you purchase through. We are in SoCal.

The color of our Dodge Ram is called Deep Cherry Red. It is really close to the color of the maroon in our black and maroon Redwood. When we opened one of the rear windows while we were at Tombstone Territorial RV Park, the mechanism that pushes the window out caught on the metal frame and it popped out. Redwood is repairing under warranty. The shower was fine the first time we used it, but the second time it started leaking under the frame, so the dealer is resealing it. We are having the airbags checked on the trail air. They seem to be leaking. The latch on the bedroom closet door cracked. They are replacing the latch. The Maxx Air Fan motor in the hallway worked one time during walk through and then quit working. They are replacing Maxx Fan. We have the Linc System. It is able to control the bedroom slides, but not the living room slides. Dealer is checking with Redwood to see if the living room slides can be programmed. We bought our RW from Camping World in Avondale, Arizona. Avondale is a suburb of Phoenix.

Congratulations on your new Redwood. Glad to hear that your dealer is supporting you well on the relatively minor issues you have found. Love your RAM....that is essentially what we have except ours is SRW. We have been in our RW for nearly 4 years now and still love it.

Safe travels.

Is this your first 5th wheel? We bought ours this past fall but it's sitting in the driveway with 30 inches of snow around it so haven't taken it out. It still has some issues that Redwood is working on one being the furnace. We've always had a Class A so unsure how it will handle.

In Phoenix, we don't have to worry about all that snow. 30 inches. Wow!!!

This is the second fifth wheel that we have owned. Our previous fifth wheel was 30 feet. It was a good learning RV that taught me how to back, how to make turns, etc, so it has been a short leap on how to handle our RW. From the picture of your truck, I think you will not have a problem handling your RW. Just remember to make wide turns as I'm sure you had to do in your class A.
