Florida roads question

We will be in the Tampa area in January and when we leave to head back north (not by choice) we want to swing by Pensacola to see family.

We're thinking of following the coast highway - 319, around and up to Pensacola.

Looking for advice. Is this do-able with the truck and coach or are we nuts and we should stick to big highways?

Vaughan, I would say it's do-able, but I wouldn't at least towing the RW, maybe with just a car it wouldn't be so bad. Not familiar with 319, but I know the traffic on 19 in the Clearwater/Port Richey area is terrible, LOTS of stop lights with traffic to match.

Thanks Michelle. Kind of what I was thinking but wanted to ask an opinion.

Take 589 north from Tampa to the end and pickup 98. Follow 98/19 on up to 319. This will get you past the worst traffic. A lot of 98/19 is 60-65 mph. We'll be at Rock Crusher Canyon in Crystal River then.
