Just last week, started a conversation with someone just after I started flushing my black tank. I now know where the overflow is for the black tank. Fortunately I caught it in time. Could have been really disgusting if the conversation lasted even a minute longer.

Runner up: First trip towing and first trip with the redwood, turned onto a dead end street in Denver.

Been there, done that, got the tee shirt for it. Once is enough.

Wow... all sounds familiar...

First trip out with Redwood clipped the water standpipe with the driver side rear corner of the Redwood... nice wrinkle in the back skirt... broken 4x4 standpipe post... NO damage to rear cap.

Second trip into small CG in Quebec... biggest RV they ever saw but no problem... lots of low power and cable lines... drove real slow... saw a powerline swinging in my side mirror. They raised the rest of the line to get me in.

Went up on the roof and the line had hit both AC covers about 1-1/2" above the roof! Had to change my shorts...

Antenna not landed in storage spot... yup did that ONCE.

Dropped trailer off Reese hitch when I trusted someone who was a truck driver... 2012 F-350 3 months old... tailgate cost $1400. ALWAYS check connection PERSONALLY now.

Wow been there done that drawer full of T Shirts LOL...

The vent pipes or stink pipes for the Grey and Black tanks go to the roof. Would have been a messy spill from above.

Okay... I know where those are.
Seem to have issues with my black tank sensors not clearing.
Ran the flushing connection with black valve open and closed... no joy.
Theford offers a product that will clean the sensors with the tank filled up and left to soak for 24 hours... how long would the hose have to run to "fill up" the blank tank?

I plan to do plenty of flushing before I resort to this product.

I know the grey tank is full cause it backs up into the shower... only did that once! Coach will have a smelly mess long before the grey water roof vent makes mess on the roof.

My first time with a flush was on a thor summit tt. Closed the black and got distracted filling the next thing i knew was i had blue water pouring off the roof. On the redwood i had flushed 4 times as i usually close the black valve let it fill for 10 min and dump again. Had company show up and forgot it someone tells me the trailer is leaking so shut it off. Water pouring out of the under belly. Go in the trailer and water is coming out of the toilet onto the floor. Caught it before it started down the stairs onto the lower level. Thank God it had been flushed enough that it was clear water. 10 min fills my tank to about 3/4

Thanks Shane...

Had a leak last week when toilet flush valve on bowl did not completely stop water flow. Came home from work to find bowl overflowed with fresh water, onto floor, into hallway and into bedroom up to the bed frame.
Borrowed a Shop Vac to cleanup and ran AC and fans to dry out coach for 3 days.

Black tank I have tried to flush with black valve opened and closed running water for up to 10 min. Guess I will try again for a little longer and watch for water level with flashlight shone down the poop pipe in the bowl.
May even have to buy the manual flushing hose that I can drop down thru the toilet.

Brad
I used to run it for 15 min but now do 10 and sit and watch it. With the clear elbow it usuall take 4 full tanks before it runs clear

Don't waste your time & money on the sensor cleaners, they may/may not help the sensors once.
I never even look at the sensors as mine have read 2/3 or 1/3 since the day I pulled it off the lot.

I've actually had good luck with the sensors...
You might try this - I've resorted to dumping and flushing,
then filling and leaving 'fresh' water in the black tank for the drive home and storage and it typically clears it.

I put Calgon powder in our Gray and Black tanks a couple times a year this coating in the tank helps everything come out easily. Nothing sticks to the walls or bottom . I also when ever possible fill the tank after flushing and then drain again our tank sensors has always worked correctly for the last 3 years

We flush ours three times after dumping, I give ours about 9 mins of fill time, when we get ready to secure dumping, my wife puts 1 cup Borax, 1\2 cup Calgon, Theford Eco smart toss in and a Pure Power Blue Bio Pouch, does'nt help much with sensors as they may or may not work and I don't check them anymore as all they do is upset me, but we don't get smells and tank comes clean easier.
We leave our grey tanks open always, except when flushing black.

I don't do the Calgon as I have a water softener, but I do add water, soap & chemicals during travel which doesn't affect the sensors but we don't have odors & it seems to drain & flush easily.

Best part of this thread is we can all talk about or opps's and laugh about them. They will happen no matter how much experience we have!!

SuperdutyGlampers still has a good laugh when we meet up and it takes me 5 tries to get into a straight back in site. I could put the MH within 1/8" of a tree with no problem but this RW still gives me a workout sometimes.

After this day it's not surprising they post sideways regardless how I hold the phone to take the pictures.
