Quartzite 2015
We are planning on attending the Quartzite Rv Rally this year. We are wintering in Yuma at the Country Roads Rv park. Are there any other Redwoods in the area? We are the only one in this park so far. We have been here 4 days and people ask us if we own that real long 5er. The Redwood is a head turner. We would like to meet other Redwood owners.
We are joining the MOC (Montana Owners Club) at the Rally and will reside outside their circle. We will join in with their fun and games. As some of you know we were planning on buying a Big Sky for our retirement and with all the new changes on that brand we opted for the Redwood. We would love to have some of our Redwood family join us. We have fulltimed about 3 months now and have had no major problems; only a very few minor problems.
Rhonda will help me put together a report very soon. Retirement is grand!!!!!

Jay, agree with you that retirement is GREAT! We aren't able to full time but go as often as possible! Hope you attend the 2015 Owners Rally in Indiana in August!

Jay, I will be there. You will find me and my Redwood on the midway. Last year we were on the SW corner. There were at least 3 Redwood owners there last year that I met.

Titan Guy, am I to assume you are there on business? The MOC does this as an annual event. They are a fun bunch. They do all the planning organization. I have offered to help in every way possible. I have to park outside their circle. Wouldn't expect anything else. I will look you up.

Jay,
We are signed up to go to the Q with the MOC group although our plans are now somewhat tentative. My wife is trying to schedule a knee replacement that might happen the 1st of January.
The other issue might be the rig. It is in the shop now for some stress cracks. Redwood/Crossroads has informed the dealer that the flex is greater than specs allow so we're waiting to hear the resolution.
Hope to be there but we'll have to see.....
Ken

If we go, it will probably be in our Truck camper, which is all set up for boondocking. Don't have solar (YET!) on the RW, so I doubt that would be our choice.

Theresa & Todd,
We don't have solar either and probably never will. At the Q, we run our Honda 2000 for an hour or so in the morning and an hour or 2 at night to keep the batteries charged. The balance of the time we depend on our 4 -6v golf cart batteries. (BTW, we have a residential refer package.)
For water, most of us use a 45 gallon bladder that we fill in town for about $2. We use a 12v Harbor Freight pump to transfer the water. In years past, the club has arranged for a Honey Wagon to pump out the tanks...cost in the past years has been around $25.
If you decide to go (and we're able to go to), let me know and we can help out.
Ken

Thanks Ken! Tempting for sure. It would be cool to have a mini-rally for us RWers at Q every year. It's something that is cheap, and do-able for us Westerners. I expect there to be a lot more of us on the "Western Side' of the map, and sadly, for those who are not retired or just too far away, the Shipshewana is too far. Just an idea. "Redwood at the Q!" Plus, timing wise-it's half-way through the year from the other one.

I think Redwood @ the Q would be an outstanding idea. I am sure this would be successful.
I nominate Bakers to host.

Haha! I don't think the Baker's are too popular right now... Or maybe that was your point? ;-) Seriously, I think it might be a great idea. It's a cheap trip, and very do-able for us over here. Anybody else interested? There are some Escapees gatherings there that I might not mind participating in too. I love the idea of a big RW circle!! VERY cool!

I think a circle of Redwoods is a great idea. We could use one for spare parts.

LOLOL!! There's a few things we need. Sounds good to me. We would be talking about, roughly, a window of time inside of January 10th-25th. That would encompass the big tent and shows and most of the people are there then, along with most other groups. Sure willing to discuss it.

Not sure we have many willing to boondock Q in a RW.

We are currently staying in Needles CA volunteering at Havasu NWR, but we do have plans of making a short trip down to Quartzite. If we spot any Redwoods we will stop by for a visit.
