They can sell the filter on that exhaust system for a quick 1500 bucks. Thanks to the EPA!

The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPT) is worth far more than a gas cat converter if you find someone who need one. I believe they sell for north of $3500. for a new one.

Keep your tailgate locked & check your hitch while towing every time you stop to make someone didn't unlatch it while you weren't looking.
Something I learned long ago, if your tailgate doesn't lock you can add a band/hose clamp around the hinge on the right side, at least they will have to have a screwdriver to steal it.

It is a shame you have to lock everything down so thugs will not just walk off with it !!!

I know there has to be theft going on in campgrounds, but thankfully it hasn't happened to us! In fact, we feel safer in campgrounds than anywhere else! Most of the people we have met in our travels, have been great "neighbors"...friendly, helpful, and courteous. We love our full-timing lifestyle.

Same here, we have only be fulltiming for 4 years now.
We have never had anything stolen or messed with at any campground, we have also meet some of the nicest people at campgrounds.
At most campgrounds everybody looks out for and helps each other.

I'm sorry to hear this is a horrible experience . Would you believe that someone came to my house the night before I was going to hospital to have my baby and stole my 50"led bar of my truck that was sitting in my drive way in a very good country neighborhood and I have a spot light pointing at the truck that probably helped them do it 😂

Sorry to hear about your problem.

On the humorous side, how long did you say it took to figure out on your Ford that the exhaust was gone?

It sounded just a little loud but not bad at an idle but then the dash said reduced power.
I first thought a pluged fuel filter. Got the flashligjt out and thougjt I would check the fuel water drain first since I am not to good with desil engins. Then after getting under the truck something was missing and going knowere soon.

I'm so sorry this happened to you and I hope it all works out. Do you know if the hotel has security cameras on the parking lot? If so maybe they could get a plate number or something. When people do things like this it ticks me off to no end. They need to be caught and put away but it is probably like a vacation to them because they 3 hots and a cot and laugh because we are paying for it. Again very very sorry.

Steve is finally on his way back home he was in mid Ohio around noon. He wants to try and drive straight through but that's a lot of hours. Worse part is he has to go back to the factory in Indiana to pick up our RW up at the end of the month
