2017 Ford

Well it may be a little fugly, but they did try to make everyone happy on the rear finders They just added all versions!

The trailer backup feature looks pretty cool. Maybe I could actually hit the camp spot and not the picnic table

Best looking grill they've come up with in several years, too bad someone didn't tell to quit putting the headlights upside down. The rear fenders look much better than the boat trailer/ afterthought fenders they had previously. Now if they put the duramax/Allison under the hood they might have a decent truck.

I think the torqueshift is close enough to satisfy my allison crave. Not sure why they would want to reduce performance with a duramax rice grinder.

Nothing like putting a round hole in a square fender

I'm not sure I like that grill, looks like it cam off a suv. A truck should look like a truck.

I now have a 2015 Government motors silverado that I use as a wagon, toting it around the country. I do miss my F350 but...........if I was going to pick a truck just off the looks, I'd have to seriously look at the GMC.

I have owned all of the trucks and I can say that although the Silverado is a nice truck, it's designed like a car with all the small buttons and fancy dash.

I absolutely hated and despised Ford products for years.....In 2011 I bought one and almost cringed when I showed it to my sons who laughed for hours. I had a 2011 and 2012 and they were the best and the most comfortable trucks I ever owned. this past fall we went through driving all the SUVs and although I was intending to buy a Suburban, we ended up buying a new Navigator.

I always seriously look at GMC - it's good to know where your tax dollars are going! Would I own one- Hope it never happens.

Not that anyone gives a cats ass what I think, nor do I what you think, but it's not about HP or looks, or who has the better ride or the better features to me, it's the fact I refuse to pay for it twice - y'all enjoy your GM products and know that all of us are still paying to put your butt in that seat!

Mine too, doesn't take a taxpayer paid Denali to get that!

Now come on, I despise the ALL of the Bailouts as much or more than you but, according to Automotive News, GM paid back all of the loans with interest in 2010. The US Treasury sold all of there GM shares in December 2013 (two years ago).

There is no more "Government Motors".

I also know it cost taxpayers (I pay a ton of taxes) money (10 billion?) as I am sure that the sales of the shares did not equal the purchase price and the original shareholders lost their -ss, but you no longer are "paying to put my but in that seat"

While I acknowledge Ford was the only big three that did not take the bailout, our government wasted more than that while I was typing this.

I don't want to turn a good Ford thread into a filthy GMC thread so I won't argue, but why you are at the keyboard lookup TARP and you'll see (closer to $64 Billion) was payed back in payments from the taxpayers, not earned income from GMC.

Did General Motors Really Repay Its Taxpayer Bailout? | Fox News
Brad,

Even though we live on opposite sides of the same mountain, I would bet a great deal of my money (both dollars that I have left after ordering my new Redwood) that you and I have the same political roots even if we drive different trucks!

I certainly did not intend to hijack your thread so apologies if needed but you hammered GM pretty hard here before I stuck my nose in....

My father drove nothing but Fords so I get the loyalty factor.

Hopefully we will meet in our travels and we can continue this over what, a cold Coors?

Ah you didn't hijack it, that was done by the other Jimmies before you got there.

Interesting - a GM bailout supporter (which was primarily union pension saving) offers a non-union beer Such a contradiction.

PS - no loyalty about it - I used to drive GM until I went to diesel. GM didn't make a decent diesel back then except their own modified small block gasser.

Bailout Supporter? Not me by a long shot!

Defender of the payback? Possibly. That is where I might at least start another discussion at another time.

Partial Disclosure: It may seem like a "contradiction" but there are reasons for my being on what seems like both sides of the equation. I would just not put it all on a public forum...

Keep Smilin

PS I probably picked the right beer?

Save the Coors cans, they'll need them to build more F150s.
