Built in vacuum

My built in vacuum doesn't have any sucking power. The vacuum turns on but has no sucking at all. Could it become disconnected to the vacuum?

Yes possibly disconnected, check behind the basement wall to be sure the hose is connected.

You can also check inside the vac box in the basement... i know that ours was filled with papers, plastic bags, and extra bags.. it was hardly sucking.. That is where they store ALL the lititure for it....

Before I would take a basement wall section down, I would remove the cover to the Dirt Devil vacuum and make sure there is a bag installed. Most everybody still has the new package of bags inside. Never installed. Cover pops on and off. If not the filter itself, then remove a basement wall section.

My vacuum system had such a sharp turn in the hose between the wall plug in and the vacuum unit, it would get clogged up very easily.
I cut some of the hose and made a slighter radius, no more problem with clogging up.
