Heartland RV
I just saw the new trailer made under the Heartland name "Landmark 365" and it looks just like the Redwood MB. I guess Tom took the info with him when he left.

I've had two Hearlands. They are great units, with minimal problems. I thought the Landmarks had been made for at least 5 years? I saw a 2006 Landmark for sale on rvtrader. When did Tom leave? When did Redwood form?

Tom left Redwood fall of 2013. He was one of the driving forces behind Redwood

^OIC, you mentioned one particular model number. My bad. I thought you meant he was the Landmark brainchild. Yea, the 365 was introduced in January of 2014. I'm not sure they could come up with the idea that quick, but Heartland might have been getting ideas from Redwood earlier.

I think it's interesting that Landmark is using a Morryde pin box instead of something made by Lippert.

If I had it to do over ~ I think I would use the Trailer Saver Air Hitch and the MorRyde pin box. Gotta say I'm less than thrilled with all the clunks, noise and movement of the TrailAir.
Understand, it's better than not having it, but I think there is probably a better way to go.

I'm with you Vaughn, when I was doing research before ordering our RW I really considered the Trailer Saver and not getting the TrailAir but instead just getting the standard pin box but decided to go with the Trail Air, mainly for financial reasons...oh well, it is what it is!!

Maybe it's still a problem for you, but I can tell you since I lubed mine it is MUCH quieter, even if I open the rear slider window, it's more of a dull thud when starting and stopping now instead of the LOUD CLANG I had before...
And on the Landmark question, some friends have a large landmark and it is nice.

My father in law has a 2013 Big horn, so far he has had all the cabinets replaced under the counters, the rubber roof had to be replaced and the rear axle had to be replaced along with the small issues. I think heartland builds a great product but they all have issues from time to time. We looked at Landmark hard before buying Redwood, the Redwood won in fit and finish as well as a more luxurious feeling. Would not trade.

Landmark was a close runner up for us, along with the Lifestyle. Redwood won for us.
Interesting, Landmark was 100% Dometic, and our Redwood is 0% (even though some early fridges were Dometic). Didn't make a difference to us, but thought it was interesting.
I have not experienced any of the noises with our Triglide, other than some squeaks ever once in a while if I open the back window.

We also looked at the Landmarks several times, just did not feel right to us, we thought the Redwood felt much more like home.

We lived fulltime in a Big Country for nearly 5 years before buying the RW, only issue was a leaking slide ram, it just wasn't built to fulltime in.

We also spent a great deal of time looking at the Landmark and really loved all the features but just couldn't make the jump. Saw the Redwood at a show, met then Andy and felt a better fit for us BINGO. I do however miss the power cord reel and compartment. But sitting here now in my redwood for the third year I know I made the right move. People always ask if it was new. YES lt is!

I guess I'll jump on this bandwagon as well. We looked at a Big Horn as well. The dealer was basically giving the darn thing away. Fortunately, we found the RW. Sad thing is, the Landmark dealer was one of those small time guys where service means EVERYTHING. We met a few times with the owner of the business, in addition to the sales person. We went to look at it on two different occasions. Since it was during the winter, each time they brought the coach inside, connected it to shore power and had the darn thing warmed up by the time we got there. Honestly, I never felt so bad turning down a dealer.

Kind of the same dealer scenario for us, we originally looked at a 38FL at a dealer I have become friends with the owner and we even sold them one of our products.
They did give us great pricing on a 2014 model but unfortunately is was early 14 model before RW revamped the interior TV / Pantry Cabinet and added the fireplace and larger / deeper pantry. Also it has the early style "Bus" type rear compartment door not the current hinged style.
The 14 unit we bought from another dealer was a mid year model with the updates that were important to us, pricing between both dealers was about the same but I would have preferred to make the purchase from the dealer with the early year model.
I think we would have been taken care of better due to the smaller size of the first dealer which we prefer buying from a smaller family owned dealer.
