If you want, YES I would book the stay...

It would be no more expensive, or cheaper going with me, but I would follow the reservation and add any upgrades ( not likely) . I have been booking for a few years and only keep it for my perks ! !

If and when you ( or anyone ) wants to go, I would be glad to do the booking

Steve,

your work as usual looks great! It's nice to see your skill level hasn't faded in your old age

Yes I lurk around on different forums from time to time just keeping up with what's going on. We're doing great and looking forward to our retirement

in the next few years. I still hold good memories of the Redwood and the Redwood family. We almost went to a 5er again with a New Horizon but decided to keep what we have. Contact me any time at dave@molleck.com

Dave, Great to see you're still keeping tabs on us Redwooder's. We've been in our '16 39MB now for 7 years and have put 56K miles on it traveling in the Summer and Snow Birding in Florida during the winter.
Hope you find retirement as good as we have.

Take care and safe travels,

Michelle & Ann Sullivan

Thanks Michelle & Ann! Glad to hear all is going well for you. We do a fair amount of traveling but not near enough. We just returned a few weeks ago from Vegas which was a 3600 mile trip. We still have the Entegra but so far only have 45000 miles on it.
We did build it a climate controlled garage so now I can wax and drink in comfort. If you're ever in my area, I have a parking lot you can dry camp in if you wish. I do have a dumping station on site

Dave I bought my RW the same time you did. I should of stuck a stick of dynamite in it . The paint job started bubbling 2 years ago and now both the front and rear caps look like a pimple ball. now the side walls in my slide are doing the same thing. RW. painters said it's my fault due to where i live. WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!

Ed I’m sorry to hear you’re having problems with your coach. I haven’t found an RV manufacturer yet that was eager to admit fault on their production. My old coach I believe is still on the road today although I haven’t talked with the owners for over a year now. All in all I didn’t think the Redwood was a bad unit I just wanted to try the motorhome scene and it’s worked well for us. No RV, regardless of the amount of money spent, is perfect or trouble free. I spend more money in maintenance with our current coach (Entegra) than I did the Redwood, but my Entegra is better built. There’s just more to go wrong on a more complicated machine. Just tires and batteries are $10,000.

There’s paint shops in Indiana that specializes in RV work. Why don’t you try calling one of them for repainting your coach.

Good luck

Ed, don't know what to say, our '16 39MB was ordered Dec of '14 and picked up Mar of '15 Has spent every winter from Nov to May in Central Florida and Summers traveling in the North. Other than the typical knicks and scratches the finish still looks as good as the day we picked it up.

Vaughn is staying about 20 minutes from us, and we plan to get together soon to talk over old times. Hard to believe it's been this long since our first RW Rally adventure. Anyone else ever in the North Myrtle Beach area just give a shout.

We’ll I’m back again and need some advice!

Ginny and I have had many long talks about our looming retirement and what our future brings. She has decided that she wants to keep our home so that means part time RVing. We think for what we have planned will work better with a 5th wheel. So starting next month we’ll be shopping which brings me to my questions. Since I’ve been away from the 5th wheels for 7 years, what should I be looking at? DRV,? Riverstone?, Lux?? Redwood?
I have A rally in a few weeks but as soon as we get back I’ll be putting our Entegra up for sale

If it was me, and $$$ permitted, I’d go with a Luxe, built the way I wanted and either one of their Luxe trucks or a Sportchassis.

Welcome back Dave…

Like Vaughan said, if the money is there I would do the Luxe hands down..

I know 2 people that have had DRV’s with issues, fairly large issues… and while at a large dealer last year picking up my buddies new Solitude I was admiring a brand new Riverstone in the service bay..

The guy working on it started a chat about my friends Solitude so when done I asked about Riverstone..

He went on to tell me that they have MORE Riverstone issues than any other brands fir PDI issues, Warranty issues, and issues after warranty..

In the Redwood-DRV-Riverstone price range, they ALL have the same workmanship, just a different name… BUT I have NOT heard any issues with Luxe …. Is that because there are not a lot of owners ??? Do not know ???

Either way, Good Luck with your decision

Joe

Thank you

Thanks Vaughn and Joe,

I'll make it a point to look at the Luxe. We went to a DRV dealership and to be honest I wasn't that impressed. One problem I see right now is that all the cabinets are so high. My Redwood wasn't as bad.

We've decided that we'll probably spend more time in RV resorts and less time behind the windshield. I don't want to be sitting with a motorhome that's not being used because that causes decay within the drive-train. I haven't ruled out the New Horizons but I'm trying to prevent a mistake. We've talked about buying a used New Horizans to test the waters a bit.

I've already warned Ginny that she's going to be riding in a dually again and not in the comfort of the Entegra. We'll limit our travels to 5 hours a day

If you look at the New Horizons you'll need a big truck, at least the sport chassis or 550/5500s, they tend to run very heavy.

If you go with the sport chassis you will never want to go back to a 1 ton dually

I’ve got mixed feelings about the more costly RVs regardless if they’re motorized or towable. I’ve experienced both sides and although I’m very happy with the diesel pusher, there’s a lot of maintenance. It seems the more electronics they put into the rv the more troublesome they become. I’ve sat under my awning many times when fellow campers have come to me and said I was driving their dream machine. I always told them that they’re better off with their more simpler rv.
