Dave, as you can see, we still have the 2013 Redwood that we had when we met you at the first ever Redwood Rally. It has and is serving us well. Yes, some upgrades. 8k springs and disc brakes. Yes, some replacement of parts, and routine repairs, but nothing major. We really still like our Redwood. Maybe a gently used Redwood with most of the problems worked out would be a possibility?

Bruce that sure was a fun rally! Yes you might be right. I'm trying to nail Ginny down as to what she wants and then I'll be shopping. I want a much simpler RV this next time around. I have looked at the Forrest River "Riverstone" and they don't look bad but they are a bit costly.
I wouldn't hesitate on the Redwoods from when they got started. Mine was a 2012.

Hey Dave, great to see from you again.
I tend to agree with some others, if you were to stay with a Redwood, I wouldn't go much newer than a '15 or '16. We're still in our early '16 39MB and still love it, but you couldn't give me one of the newer ones. We've looked at the MB basic floor plans and they have taken away probably 50% of the inside storage. The main Bathroom doesn't even have a medicine cabinet anymore. Plus read all the problems with the In-command or what ever electronic control unit.
I've looked at Luxe, but they are HEAVY and would require a different TV.
Good luck in your search.

When Redwood first started they broke many molds, full body paint at a lower price point And a more luxurious interiors. It’s a shame as their competition followed them, they didn’t keep up with the development.
My 2012 Redwood was a good product but I don’t know too much about the current model years because I’ve been so I tuned to the motorized market. One 5th wheel brand I’m starting to research is the Riverstone made by Forrest River. They have the hung wall and optional Morryde suspension. Yet they’re fairly light weight with a GVW of around 20,000.
I might look into the used New Horizons but I don’t want to venture above 26000 pounds.

Dave,
I tried to send you a PM a couple of days ago, but for some reason, I don't think it actually was delivered.
Good to see you are in the 5th wheel market again. Check out my listing in the "Redwood RV Classifieds" page.
Good luck in your search.

Dave - put quite a bit of thought into this - if we were to change from what we have now, I’d be looking for a really nice 2014-15 38RL. We love our 36RL and the only thing we’ve seen that we like better is the 38 with a little larger bathroom and the second pantry. Other than that, an early MB like Michelle’s.
Tow vehicle would, hands down, be a Sportchassis with the big Cummins and full air ride both suspension and seats. Knowing you two, I think that would be Ginny’s choice. The other option would be a converted Volvo and then you’ve got some of the amenities she’s used to in the Entegra. Lots of room and a work station in the back. One friend of mine has a Jeep 2 door on the truck and tows a 41’ toy hauler.
For me, it would be the Sportchassis and then double tow the Focus. The Dually does ok and I’m still under GCWR but the bigger truck would be nice.
If the coach doesn’t have IS and discs, that’s a must.
Call me if you’d like ! We’re in Arizona so Pacific Time.

We were similar to Vaughan, started looking to upgrade from our '12 36RL to the 38RL, but would of had the same issue, where to put the litter boxes. The MB solved that problem with the large front Bath. Plus we had the option for the Butler's Pantry vs the 1/2 bath and we wanted the storage more than the 1/2 bath.
When we were ordering the Dealer kept trying to push the Electronic controls for everything and from everything I read very glad we stayed with manual switches for everything.

Michelle, I totally agree with you about the newer electronic touch screen coach management systems. You couldn’t give me one. Our next door neighbor has a Riverstone with the In Command system and absolutely hates the thing. An Alpine a few spots down has it also and his opinion is not repeatable, lol.

I still follow the Montana Forum and every day someone is posting of an issue with the In-Command and the Key TV System. Both suppose to make things easier, but seem to do nothing but cause problems.

Sorry we never got together at Myrtle Beach. Long story, we left early.
We’re back out at Lake Powell in AZ. If you make it out our way, the boat ride into the slot canyons is on me ! Lol

That's right, I forgot you guys went over to the "Dark Side".
Yea, those 8 will probably set you back more than my 8 for the TV and 4 for the RW.
