Went to Dallas Rv Show this weekend

Dallas RV Supersale - Dallas RV Show | Market Hall

Wow, 4 hours and we saw less than 50% of it

The wife yelled at me to come into a DRV and look...
nice, but when he said the GVWR, I said Whoa !!!

He said he had something I might be interested in then, asked would we mind going to the next aisle and took me to a Landmark...

It was NICE!
He introduced me to a Andy W???
from Landmark and after a bit asked me what I had now - when I said Redwood he said he was one of the originators at redwood and only 1 of the first 20 are still there...

He was very gracious and that's all he said about it as we started looking closer at the landmark... much more high end than my buddies from 1 or 2 years ago....

the salesmans name was kent and asked how we liked the RW, and when I told him we've had some 'opportunities' with it he asked where I got it from ...
it was at that time I saw his badge and said "From you!!!" well, another ExploreUSA store...

I'm glad to hear that you had a good time at the show. Andy is a great guy and he was the one that sold me on the Redwood. Landmark has come a long way and I believe, that competition will make Redwood continue on it's journey to making even better RVs.

The DRV I currently have in my radar is the "Memphis". I still have to do some research but it has definitely caught my attention. I might sit back and wait until the end of this season before I make up my mind. It'll be interesting to see the competition grow and who ends up getting the market share.

Dave...if that's the unit, time for a bigger truck for sure.

Could be but from what I can find so far it's gvw is around 23k and my F350 should be able to handle that. Ginny wants a new F450....this just might justify it.

I think that the one we looked at was a Houston bath and 1/2 model and the gvwr shocked me...
iirc it was the 44 or something like that....

but the show price shocked me too - it was STUNNINGLY low !!!

I was impressed by the Landmarks at the Tampa show. I agree, those DRV's are HEAVY.

Are you referring to a DRV price that was stunningly low?

Mark

They are heavy but I like the box frame and the Memphis has 3 axles. When 5th wheels get longer than 40 ft and 2 axles, I worry about frame flex.

Yes lwg... think it was maybe last years model with the light wood ?!?
we all commented on how low the show price was.. it was already sold when we got there...

There was a new Carraige there as well, outside paint was stunning, but for some reason we didn't go in it ?!? maybe because there was a line to get into it and we got distracted by something else ???

Looked at a couple of Carriages at Tampa also. It was easy to tell that they were from RW.

johnboytoo, besides Andy Wesdorph, Doug Richards and Tom Montague were at the Dallas show. All of them were with Redwood at the startup. Tom and Andy are now with Landmark and Doug is over all the ExploreUSA stores in the DFW area.
