I think you would be pushing it using a 16K Hitch. I would not do it.

We had a 16K Husky Hitch for many years, when moving up to our Redwood we moved up to a Q24 Curt Hitch. (The Curt Q20 would have been fine but the cost difference at the time between the Q20 and Q24 was about $25 so I went with the heaver rated hitch)
I agree the 16K Husky is at its limit pulling the Redwood.

You're Redwood GVWR is probably 16,500. I would upgrade to at least an 18K.

If you're talking about the rails mounted in your truck bed, they will work for most all hitches, but the 16k Husky isn't enough hitch.

I would agree with Rob as there is little difference in price. I knew I wanted the B&W Companion to fit my Ram puck system. It is only made in one rating 25K towing and a Vertical Tongue Weight of 6,250. Maybe a little overkill but at $1200 it is likely the last hitch I will ever buy.

I just noticed that B&W hitch for the Ford Puck system is only rated for 20K and 5K. That should end all discussion on which truck is really built for towing Ford must have notified B&W to not make anything with a higher rating as the truck would not handle it

Hahahah - nice try My Reese Ford Puck system is rated higher than the B&W for your Dodge

B&W may just not want to get in the Brute market of the F450

I guess you are correct on the hitch ratings. To bad your ford cannot pull that rating

Ya, my F350 is only rated to pull 23,200, but thats enough to pull the 17,220 lb Redwood. I think the 2015s are higher, and the F450s are the reason Reese went from the 25K to the 26,500K hitch, but I'm not sure.

We love our B&W Companion for the RAM puck system, only complaint: IT'S HEAVVVVY! Only Todd can put the hitch in and out of the truck, and if I am here, I help because it's so heavy. The RAM version has a far larger footprint and it makes it much heavier. This causes us to leave it IN the truck most of the time (We have it all locked in with padlocks). It's a dog, for sure, but our towing experience is EXCELLENT. NO chucking, no noise, literally can barely tell the trailer is back there.

I agree. I threw my back out several months ago with that monster. It seems so much stouter than many other hitches.

Yeah, back in the "old days" with our SOB fiver years ago, I would get everything ready for going camping, including putting the hitch in the truck so that we could take off as soon as HE got home... those days are over. I would certainly crack my coccyx trying to live that thing. It's awful!

Kind of strange - I haven't had to do any repairs to my Mexico built engine or hitch, but the American made 5th wheel is started to become a money pit and my American assembled truck has been on the tow truck at least once for non-engine related stuff, so I'm raising the bar for Mexico!

I really like my Curt 20K hitch and Trailair pin. Unless I'm on a real bumpy road I hardly notice my RW. I have a tri fold cover on my truck to protect my hitch, so I doubt I would ever take it out.

I will keep this Ram. On my Ford I always had that fear every time i went on a trip whether it was going to break down on me. That is not a good feeling and it was always something related to the engine. I have absolute confidence in the Ram truck and consider the Cummins the best engine for the long haul out there. 43K so far and not one trip to the dealer.

Since we fulltime and move about every two weeks year round, we never take our hitch out, way too much trouble and if we took it out, where would we put it?
