I look forward to the day that I can be on that pace. As for now 600+ would be a normal travel day.

Danny.......I'm with you. Two years ago, when we were trying to make it to Ft. Lewis, WA, we did some 460 mile days for 5 days. But, normally I try to keep the driving day to 350 miles or less. We are headed home from Florida this week and we will have 251, 288, 289 and 301 miles during the 4 days of travel. A relaxed departure, a relaxed arrival and a relaxed evening each day. The days of conquering the road are behind me and I don't miss them.

I carried about 75 gallons of diesel when I had the Redwood. I enjoyed having the flexibility to carry enough fuel should an emergency arise. The extra fuel actually made the truck ride better and I was in more control of where I fueled. I never let my main fuel tank get much below 1/2 before I fueled and this meant in a pinch I could cover a couple hundred more miles. I've been in some areas off the beaten path where finding diesel wasn't easy and a few places I had to unhook to get into.

I wish my MH had a larger tank because the 100 gallons isn't enough at times. I only use about 50 gallons before I refuel so about every 6 hours I'm looking for a flying J.

I think I may go back to this setup instead of what I was thinking. My question is that I see the Titan 60 gal.tank for $1,584 and a Transfer Flow 61 gal. tank for $1,222.
These are just the results of a quick online search so any better suggestions on were to purchase from you guys that have one.

Guy,
I know. I feel like I was a lot younger last year.

Steve, if you get the Titan, you can have it installed in Bloomfield by Street Fleet (authorized dealer/installer).

When I started this quest I was going to go with the replacement tank. But in the end, for the cost, it only adds 20+ gallons. For almost the same price I can add 50 gallons by going with a tank in the bed, plus get a tool chest.

I had 60 gal aux tank in the the bed of my old dually, but I was always nervous about what would happen if I hit something hard while towing. Would the hitch hold, or plow through that tank right behind the back window??
This time, I went for the 60 gal replacement of my 34 gal OEM.

I had a 36 gallon tank in the bed and I was glad I went that route because I put that tank in 2 different trucks. The replacement tanks are usually a one time deal. Also if I did somehow get contaminated fuel, I could just run off of one tank. My set up allowed me to draw fuel from either tank.

Diesel isn't as dangerous as gas and even if you smash a diesel tank it wont explode .......unless your smoking........then you become a BBQ.

Steve mine was 1200.00 installed. I had it done at 4wheel parts. There were a couple of different dealers that were cheaper installed, than Buying direct from Tiatn go figure
