Dodge fifth wheel hitch
Got a Dodge fifth wheel hitch installed in my 2014 Dodge DRW Diesel. This hitch is made by Curt. I am having a problem with the head bottoming out, metal to metal, on drivers side only. Anyone else own one and have had similar problem. Dodge doesn't seem to know anything about "their" hitch.

Sorry, can't help. Have the Ram adapter with a Reese 20K, works just fine

Make Dodge fix it, since they installed it?

I have the same hitch. You are saying the king pin is bottoming in the hitch?
I have not noticed this but have not specifically looked as I have had no problems hitching.

Titan Guy, can you try to rock the head assembly to the driver's side and bottom it out. Metal to metal contact with only 20 lbs. Of downforce.

When I rock the head side to side, the head will bottom out left & right side on the metal loop that goes around the horizontal silver pin that holds the head on. The head does not touch the pin. It appears this side to side bottoming was by design.

Doesn't seem right to me and Curt Manuf. Said it should bottom metal to metal in any direction. Any ways, Dodge is now ordering new hitch for me.

Thanks for the info. I'm having a Curt Q24 hitch installed on my new 2014 Ram this week, only it's on a Knapheide low-profile utility bed, not a standard pickup bed. I hope to be hauling within two weeks - well, after the Fourth - and will keep an eye out for this issue. Good luck!
