Flipped Axels
Just curious! I was under my RW this weekend just looking at some items and was looking at my axels. I pull a little nose high and have read about flipping axles. However, when I looked at them it looks as if they are already flipped. Is this how they come from RW?

Dean,
I don't think these can be flipped.
Curious, I was looking at your springs - do you have 8K axles?

AA They are 7K axles as indicated on the tag on the axle and on the manufacture label on the drivers side front.
It is funny when people put these used RW's up for sale they are not quite sure what they have. I had told the wife prior to looking at the one we bought that if it did not have disc brakes and G tires I was not interested as the seller made no mention of it. I was surprised when I looked at it had both! I did have to point out to the seller that he did not have gen prep when he was adamant that he had it! He finally told me that I knew more about his unit than he did LOL! It is amazing what you learn from this forum. I even showed him where he had the vertical expansion joint cut into the unit at the bedroom slide. Now to do all of the other preventive repairs I am listing from reading the posts. Ours appears to have been a very lightly used unit as there is little tire wear and the spare still has the label over the treads. It was built in November of 2011.

Wow that is amazing he had the vertical cut on the bedroom wall. I wonder if they did that during one of his inspections?

I think the 8K spring has the 2nd leaf going all the way to the end of the spring pack by the spring bolt and on the 7K spring pack the 2nd leaf is shorter.

Ya that's why I was asking. I'm having trouble with the longer 8K leaf eating a notch into the shackles. Not a great design. I thought his looked longer than the 7Ks.
