Seriously though....

All 3 manufactures are making pretty good trucks right now and it boils down to personal taste. In the past this wasn't always true. Ford had a heck of a time with their diesels as did GM before the Duramax. Dodge couldn't find a good automatic transmission.

Dodge was the first manufacture to break the barrier on the diesels with the Cummins. Then the race was on for the others to catch up. It took a while, but finally all three have proven diesel engines. In my mind though.....there's still something to be said about the simple in-line 6 cylinder that cummins puts out.

In-line 6...yes. Simple...not anymore my friend. ECMs, high pressure fuel rails, high pressure fuel pumps, piezo injectors, etc. etc. But it's all good.

Let's put it this way. All 3 are putting out way better vehicles than years gone by. They will all have problems in certain model years. Anytime you introduce new technology there will be bugs. The bottom line is you are happy with the product you purchased. This is a great thread and all of you not driving General Motors must have rocks in u heads.

Have any of you truck owners heard that Dodge and cummins are ending their relationship? i have not found anything to back up that rumor. But had a man tell me that who normally knows about trucks. I personally cannot see that happening. Just thought I should check with all the experts....:-)

If were not towing a heavy RW and needed the dually 1 ton. That Nissan would be a strong temptation. Good looking pickup. IMHO :-)

I recall a dyno event for North Texas Powerstrokes where a daily driver dodge, broke the spped shops dyno almost...
1000+ hp and 1700+ lbft !! iirc !!! I was impressed...

While I HATED to get rid of my 350 CCSB platinum, the in line 6 cylinder in our coach is starting to win me over to the dark side
it only develops 425hp, but 1250 ftlbs of torque @ about 1600 rpm !!!
it IS a horse, and can be tuned for a lot more if I wanted to...

now if we want to talk about disappointments ! the jeep engine is a DOG - all kinds of noise and drama and no go and they say this is the GOOD engine ?!?

So much torque twist it ended up on it's side

What is that unbadged obviously tuned monster ? the 15 denali ?

Also had a Jeep Commander, great vehicle, with 4.7 V8 & what a POS, 12mpg & no guts, but it had every bell & whistle you could think of & very comfy.

That's why I stayed away from Jeep when I was looking for a toad. Too many friends with issues. So far the Chevy has been a pretty good toad. It's a shame that Jeep has lost their market because they used to be great vehicles.

so far the wrangler has been fine - not a hiccup EXCEPT it's gutless compared to the turbo deezles we've been in for years (I know,not a fair comparison!)

Lost their market? You must be kidding. They are saturating the roads. They must make 15 different vehicles in the fleet now. Maybe a few old crones don't want them as toads anymore because of a few electrical fires, but they certainly aren't a sinking ship.

Every Chevy I have ever known has been great being towed behind something! I saw pictures of yours and it looked like a lot of other Chevys I have seen. They run great like that, and you can get a lot of miles trouble free.

My sons do make fun of my little truck. The Beast was so modified and over the top. Now one of my sons has a Chevy diesel all tuned that he teases me.

That Cummins diesel is a pretty weak motor and needs all the help it can get.

My son has had several Grand Cherokees, a couple had the 5.9 V8 & holy cow would those suckers run, they would literally pin you to the back of the seat (in 4 wheel drive) & were very comfy. He currently has one with huge tires, roll cage, about 2' of axle travel, I think if it could get traction it would climb up the side of a building.

You can say a lot of different things about that 450hp cummins but week isn't one of them. All the years I drove big trucks I was a CAT guy....that cummins is doing good.
