MORryde pin box
Looking at replacing the Trailair Tri-glide with a MORryde pin box. Some forum members have made this switch, could someone please share the model # I would need to purchase from MORryde. Thank you

I am not a owner with a morryde but If I was going to replace mine this is the unit I need.
RPB72-1621SHD-06 its designed for 18,000 lbs and its a direct replacement for lippert 1621 pin box that is standard on my RL38
chart to show you what unit is a direct conversion.

I don't have my paperwork but I think Mark is right. In any case, if you get the model number off the TriGlide and call MorRyde they will have you verify a couple of measurements and get the right one.
Haven't regretted at all ditching the TriGlide and the Reese 25k Elite hitch and going to MorRyde pinbox no 245 Comfort Ride Hitch. We both commented yesterday how good the ride is and how solid the whole rig feels.
That was right before the R/rear wheel Bering self destructed. But that will be in a new thread ........

MORryde
A neighbor took the MORryde off his new fifth wheel and converted to goose neck, it is a RPB72-1621HD with a GVWR rating of 18000lbs wandering if it would fit my 2013 36FL, there are no tags on the trailaire tri-glide.

Have a 2016 Redwood 38GK, put a New Flex Air on it and have a B&W hitch on the F 350 what a great combo. Works great for me

The TriGlide is a known problem. If you contact Lippert they will ship you a free replacement. They gave me a FlexAir which solved the TriGlide problems (the pins worn out) and provides a superior ride/pull.

Do you have a contact for someone to get the replacement from Lippert? Did they just replace the lower jaw with the Flex Air or the entire pin box?
Not traveling for a while yet so now is good time to replace it.

Danny - to my knowledge if you call them they will send the non-articulating bottom jaw rather than the Flex Air. Seems some people have gotten the Flex Air but most have wound up with the straight jaw.

What you get depends on who you speak with and how insistent you are. We were stuck in an RV park in San Diego because the pins in the TRiGlide failed. Luckily we made to the park because the result of a complete failure is a loose trailer on the road. Don't wait to get it changed. The consequence of a failure is disasterous.
Unfortunately my contact at Lippert is no longer there.

The straight bottom jaw replacement turns the TriGlide into an AirRide model. People having this fix report a good ride. The only difference between this fix and the FlexAir is a rubber pad and pivoting pin mount. I don't think it makes a big difference.

I received the stationary replacement and have no issues with it. Did not notice any difference in the ride after changing. Thought about replacing it with the Moryde pin box but it works very well. The replacement was free when our original Trail air started to clunk alot.

I have received the lower jaw replacement and I am wondering if is going to change the angel of the rv when it is hooked up. has anyone had to change there hitch height?

Called lippert this morning and I have to send them the documentation requested for approval of lower jaw replacement. Mine has cracks on the lower plate and chucking even when greased. Crossing fingers that they approve, but I am going home today and looking at the MORryde my neighbor has for sale.

Received reply from Lippert, they are sending me the new lower jaw replacement, to the rv park where I am currently staying at hope it's an easy fix for 2 people.

It weighs about 80 lbs so two people can handle it. They generally furnish a new shock absorber, bushings and hardware with it. Good luck. Should be an easy change out.

It is very doable with TWO People but very heavy. You will need a good Torque wrench. I think it called out 300 ft lbs on all bolts. I was lucky enough to have a shop to work on it at and right tools available.

Actually it's 110 ft-lbs written in the Lippert manual sheet.

I went ahead and also purchased the new MORryde pin box from my neighbor today, couldn't pass on it for $325 and they also brought it to my garage, but that's another thread.

I now have the MorRyde pin box. The biggest thing about the Tri Glide that I had is if you inflated the air bag to the recommended pressure it felt like the trailer was going to bounce out of the truck when you would cross over an expansion joint on an overpass. The other thing was it was always hard for me to get the hitch to unlatch I think because of the angle of the pin inside the hitch which was due to how much or how little pressure was in the air bag. Anyway no problems now with the MorRyde.
