Outside Tire Wearing
Has anybody else had this ? The outside tire on the Duals is wearing more than the inside. Both sides are even , doesn't appear to be any alignment issues. Tire pressure is same on all tires.
Truck has 28k miles on it, probably about 13k towing the coach. Tire dealer looked at it and shrugged and said just rotate them. I'm planning on having them all broken down and remounted and rotated in and out but just curious what causes the uneven wear.
Any ideas ??

I'm thinking I may buy another pair of aluminum wheels so I don't have to break them down ........ Of course THEN I'll have to spend a day polishing the one that was the inside one ......

Yes, the outside rear tires on our Ford wore more than the inside ones. I didn't rotate but I still got about 55,000 miles on them (virtually all hauling a 5th wheel RV) before I replaced all 4. With the inner rims not matching the outer ones you have to demount the tires to rotate properly.

I think that's just the nature of the beast, this truck & my last dually were the same, just rotate every 6-10k. I paid for a service with Discount Tire, as you can fi.d them most anywhere, & get rotation/balance every 5500 miles, so far it's even covered mounting/dismounting the dials.

My front tires were cupping until I installed the AirLift system.
I took the front tires and rotated them to the inside rear, no problems since.
Rotating the tires with the aluminum wheels is an expensive experience, wish I had known that you have to unmount/mount each wheel to do the job. I'm told that with steel wheels you don't have to do that???
