That's what I was thinking on the receiver, but the side bracing is a bonus! Now I have to find a welder willing to do it without a liability panic issue.

After some discussion, the thought was by extending the 1" tube on the side and adding the gusset that we would spread the stress over a larger area, negating any potential frame issues.

That looks like it will work. What do you plan on towing?

I am having a single axle 6'x8' enclosed trailer built. 5.2k axle, 4" tube frame and 16" on center cross members. Trailer dry weighs 1,100 lbs. I will be putting abt. 2,000 lbs of disc brake parts in the trailer. Will have lots of cube left over for ???
