Spare tire

Picked up our Redwood Saturday. Due to low trees on our street, we parked it at a nearby Walmart so we could finish putting our stuff in. Sunday morning we had a flat tire. We have the Made in the USA Goodyear G614s. The spare is a no-name made in China POS on a white painted rim and it ISN'T EVEN THE SAME SIZE. I had the Goodyear fixed (bad valve stem seal) and back on before driving, but would I have been ok driving in a slightly narrower tire (635 vs 630)? Should I demand a matching rim and tire?

If you ordered the G614 as an option, yes!

Mine came with 5 G614 tires. I don't actually recall if the wheel is steel or alloy on the spare.

If they were a Dealer install and you didn't specify the spare, then the Dealer may be able to argue back.

As far as driving on different size tires, its not really an issue on a trailer, but an ST tire (if that is your spare) limits your speed to 65 mph.

I specified 5 tires. However, the dealer put the spare on the existing wheel which is steel. I would go back to the dealer for the tire you're missing.

Though G's are standard now, mine came with G's the spare is a different size. If you look at the tire certification on the side of the rig it lists the spare as a different size from RW with different tire pressure.

I call newbie inexperience , forgot about the stickers. Yes, the spare is listed as an E series, different size. Doesn't seem right to me.

Interesting - here is my original sticker before they updated it to correct the GVWR:

It shows a G tire for spare, which I have. Shortly after they must have changed there mind about doing that for the "then" G rated option or the "now" G rated standard. I guess I feel lucky.

Mine has 5 G rated tires but the spare is mounted to a steel wheel. Last fall I had the spare put on one of the aluminum wheels. I couldn't leave a $375 tire hanging under my trailer and not use it.
