where is it at right now as far as hitch height? Does it go down quite a bit?

Yes it will go down. Without having our coach we had no reference point so we just put it in the middle.

With the tri-glide, I had to put my hitch all the way down to make everything level. Looks like a little stump in there

I have a 3500 ram, 2013 model, with the new frame and my hitch isn't a B&W. I can't remember the brand, maybe Reese, but it's not a B&W.
