Thanks ALOT RAM! Can't get a hitch
Just venting. Turns out, the one thing we DIDN'T plan on was not being able to get a hitch for our new truck! There is only ONE manufacturer that makes a hitch that actually fits the puck system in the new RAM trucks, and it's B&W. The soonest I can hope to get one is "MAYBE first or second week of June" from etrailers.com (we have worked with them before and they were great). Called every area RV dealership and they all laughed and said they can't get them either. What a BUMMER.
Those of you that DO have this hitch, thank your lucky stars! We are supposed to take delivery of our new RW in mid May. This isn't looking good at all. If anyone knows of a good online retailer of hitches for me to try, sure would appreciate it. I am SUPER frustrated.
Thanks for letting me RANT.

Which B&W hitch do you need? Believe it or not amazon.com is showing some B&W hitches in stock, but don't know which exact one you need.
Just my 2¢.

Thanks ksaltman. I need the BWRVK3600. I have checked everywhere, including Amazon. It was only released in February so they are having trouble keeping up I guess. Sure doesn't help us out. Thanks so much for your help1 :-)

TNTBaker,
Call Rick @ O'Reilly Auto Parts in Franklin TN. (615)794-2581. He says he has one at his distribution center in Nashville and can have it tomorrow. Maybe he can drop ship it to you.
Good luck.

Or call B&W directly. They could at least tell you where their next shipment is going. I think with a little ambition and patience on the phone you can find one. Pricing might be another story altogether though...

TNT, We went with the RAM adapter that fits in the pucks and used our Reese 20K to fit on top. Works very well

Thanks Coloradolivin! You know, we HAVE that same hitch! I just sold it to a guy who is driving all day to pick it up tonight (ironically). Just one of those things I guess. We were thinking that we wanted to just forgo the frame adapter (before we knew of the backlog). Sort of a Charlie Brown moment for us. Thanks so much for the input, now starting to wish we had done that too! Since we have a truck camper too that we do our "RVing" in, we thought having less to mess with in the bed would be nice. Guess we are doing our "MESSING" up front!

So here is the deal... apparently (I am now told) B&W stopped manufacturing the hitch because there were some issues with the first ones out that they had to address. They have JUST begun shipping them out to distributors again, and most of them say they expect to have them within the next couple of weeks. Also, there is ANOTHER one being introduced by CURT MFG. in the next couple of weeks, but probably the same story time-wise. If push comes to shove, I will borrow a hitch and adapter or something to get the RW home from the dealership if it comes in before the hitch does. What a pain. Everyone was SO helpful, thank you. I hope we can return the favor here for someone else who is freaking out!! LOL!

How close are you to Humboldt, KS? Might be worth the drive to the B&W factory there only costs $30 for installation.

Not sure the real reason why Ram went with this configuration (larger foot print that requies an adapter plate) but was told by the Dodge form it was to be able to exceed the 30,000lb tow rating

I think Pull Rite also makes one you can get with an adapter. If all else fails!

Yes, the adapter is available, and that is what I will likely do. Right now I am scratching my head, because I went to the MOPAR site to see what THEY offer, and they HAVE the 25K hitch for our truck, and it's IN STOCK and it's LESS MONEY. So, naturally, I feel like maybe I have been on a wild goose chase. Does anyone know anything about the MOPAR hitch, good or bad? Here is a link to it: http://www.mopar.com/part/82213821?s...=4309809&b=ram
This has made me feel like I am mentally challenged. It shouldn't be this difficult. Maybe I need to take some vitamins.

Maybe you're just "Over Thinking" the whole thing. My guess would be that Mopar doesn't make the hitch, so it's probably from one of the major Hitch MFRs. Maybe a call to your Dealer to see if they know who makes it and it's ratings??

It looks like you will still need the adapter

TNT, I just talked to the guy who got my 2014 RAM and I think we paid about 450-500 for the adapter. And I think that Reese 20k is like
$750 ?? Anyway, that might be the easiest and simplest way to go since both products should be readily available with not much headache.
Since you also have a slide-in, either way you go it should not be much work to get both the hitch and the adapter out in about 10-15 min. Some of those bigger one piece hitches are pretty darn heavy and I think you would have to take the head off first and then the frame. So maybe 50/50??
Any way, too bad the guy is coming to buy your old 20K
