Either these Dealers have no knowledge of what's going on in the RV Market, or they're full of Crap. RW is not the only brand that has been using the Tri-Glide, check out some of the other Forums and you'll read the same reports of Banging that have been reported here.

I saw forum posts on this going back 4 and 5 years while researching the problem. In the dealers defense, the manufactures are certainly not publicizing it. Who knows...

And Lippert has been telling everyone that the banging is normal and there is NO Problem with the Tri-Glide. I wonder if there has been a serious mishap or two that has been hushed up.

I would think Rob's issue alone would have made them get up out of the chair - that was a close call!

What difference does a 6 or 9 grease fitting have to do with warranty

It's a trick question. If he had said 6, they would have claimed it wasn't properly maintaining and wasn't covered.

What would they say if you had proof it had been properly maintained! How did they know the 9 zerk one had been maintained?

Just ordered a Flex Air to replace the Tri Glide. No point in waiting for it to fail.

I just received the new lower Jaw today. But I am not sure what to do go ahead and replace the lower jaw or order the Moryde pin box and get away from Trail air. Hate to spend the time to only find I want the Moryde anyway.

At the Rally I was on the fence if to change from the Tri-Glide to the FlexAir. Now after hearing of problems with the Rubber section of the Roto-Glide section (on a couple of other forums also) really glad I went with the MORryde that has been in use for years.

Yep, I had a MoRyde Pin Box on my last SOB 5er, never had a problem.
MoRyde products are hard to beat

Is my Trailair Tri-Glide Failing?

We are on the road right now and I began hearing new banging noises from the hitch. After researching this forum and the ROG I learned about the Tri-Glide problem. Mine appears to be failing? I have a call into LCI right now, Troy Laymon, and wondering what they will do. I'm afraid to tow it any further for fear of failure... what do you guys think? Here is a video clip of the issue. Does your Tri-Glide do this?

That does not look good. Mine makes some noise but does not move like that. I received the replacement bottom Jaw replacement yesterday. I will get installed in the next few weeks. Hope you hear back from them soon and get it replaced.

I didn't think it seemed right. Thanks. I'm really afraid to tow it like this, but am not sure what to do. Hope to hear something from LCI soon and will let everyone know what they say...

That is exactly what mine was doing... I was not going to wait around for LTI to get off their arses... and since I just had heard of other failures, I replaced mine on my own..

Well, I think it should be covered under our five year chassis warranty, right? I think some have been approved for that. I'll have to be that "bearing that squeaks"! We'll see.

I found a good grease to use in the 9 grease fittings on the triglide. I got tiered of my pin slamming so I took my small grease gun and removed the grease that I normally use and then packed the gun with Lucus heavy duty bearing grease. This is the same grease that I used one my freightliner classic and I never had any problems with over a million miles. The Lucus grease did stiffen up the movement on the plate. I had to push and pull a lot harder to move the plate. I will give it a test run this Friday when I take the RW to the Keystone factory in Penelton Or. for slide repairs
