Turning Radius

I have a 2013 RAM 3500 Short bed (6.5'). I am towing my 2017 Redwood 31SL. I have never had an issue turning and or backing into tight places where I have needed to slide my Curt 20K hitch back on this or my previous Jayco. I would like to swap out the slider hitch and go with the stationary Curt legs. Has anyone done this or has anyone had issues backing and or turning their Redwood with a short bed truck. On my prior fifth wheel, I towed with a 2004 Dodge 2500 diesel short bed and also installed a slider hitch which I never used. This was a major issue before the manufacturers started redesigning their front caps to accommodate the turns. You still must be very vigilant when turning but when I bought my Redwood I changed the slider out to a stationary hitch and then eventually, switched to a Ford F350 long bed.

Our short bed F250 had a slide hitch in it, but I never had to use it for backing up our 31sl.

I don't know anything about the hitch you are using, however, I pull with a Companion hitch with my Ram (6'6") bed and have never had any turning issues. I still keep an eye out when making extremely sharp turns. I am sure a DRV would never work since it has the ugliest front cap ever made, just sayin.....
