Tom Montague
I noticed that Tom landed the GM job at Heartland RV. Will be interesting to keep an eye on Heartland. Good things could be coming.

Yep...Tom's a great guy and I'm sure he'll bring Heartland up a few notches.

You are right. Tom will be working to bring the Landmark up a few notches. Might be interesting to see if some of the upgrades resemble Redwood features.

He was the most customer-focused senior executive I have had the pleasure of interacting with for product information.

Tom was a great force at Redwood - and he deserves to land "on his feet". Many of us followed Redwood from it's introduction and came to know all the selfless personnel. It's been an eye-opening experience to watch Thor slowly, but steadily, convert this special company they created to mere corporate "product line" to maximize profit. They did so by changing the entire team, one by one. Brian was just the first surprise departure, with such a "trumped up" infraction, but soon to be followed by Tom and virtually everyone else you knew there.
Such a shame. It seems that "no good deed shall go unpunished".

I had the pleasure of talking to Tom twice and each time his enthusiasm and professional knowledge about his product was exemplary. He, single handedly convinced me that Redwood was the product I was looking for. Heartland will not be sorry. Go Tom!!

On the Heartland Forums, Tom refers to his previous job with "Deadwood"

I hope this was in reference to his management position and not the product itself.

Thor, Brunswick, GM, Tyco, or one of them conglomerates Otherwise Heartland is a parent company like Crossroads is to Redwood.

Thor bought out Heartland back in '09-10 I believe. We bought a Big Country Sept. '08(which was a '09), shortly after Thor took over, back when most others went belly up.

When Heartland first started production, I thought they had some pretty good ideas. Around 2003 my wife and I went to a RV show up in Northern Indiana and we met the originators. Each trailer had a water manifold and they offered a pretty good looking toy hauler.

Thor owns Heartland and many other RV brands, here is a link to Thor Industries which lists the brands they own... http://www.thorindustries.com/corp/r...ional-vehicles
So even though Tom M. is no longer with Redwood, he still is in the Thor family.

The new prototype landmark - right down to the red/black paint scheme.

Heartland and Redwood are both part of Thor Industries, so his comment does not much sense.

I presume you are referring to my comment.
It was based on seeing the new prototype LM's that will be coming out under the RW team that is now at Heartland. There are more folks other then Tom that moved over.
I saw the trailer last week, and when first seen coming down the road, it looked very much like the RW's when the red and black paint scheme was popular.

No it was Tom Montague's comment "Deadwood". If you are working within the same company culture you should not downgrade your former company, granted he was let go, but be a team player and he helped make the Redwood line a good one.

Took awhile, but I found. Might not have been the best choice of words.
