Yes, the 17.5 will fit 7k or 8k axle, with disc or electric brakes. Actually, the 17.5 is not over tiring the Redwood but putting the % load on the tires right where other passenger and light trucks are. If you look at the GVWR on your SUV, Passenger car or light truck, you will find that even at GVWR they are only loading the tires at 65%-75% of the rated capacity. This is the norm. The 17.5 on the Redwood puts us at 65%-70% loaded.

My thinking was if I have to change tires anyway, I can upgrade a little.
I had added the G-114 Goodyears to my last trailer about 600 miles before I purchased the Redwood... When dealing,, I told them I wanted the "5" brand new wheels and tires swapped to the new RW on the day of delivery ( which has 7K axles).. I ran them on my stock Redwood with 7K axles until I upgraded to the Mor-ryde SRE4000 and upgraded to Ron's Titan Disc Brakes ... .. Go for it... The feeling of " am I going to have a blowout" is never there anymore...

My axles are only 7k. My understanding is the diameter is the same as the G tires. I am going to keep the G tires as spares.

Depending on the mileage you have on the G times, you could sell them and pay for half the cost of the upgrade to the H's. That's what I did on our RL.

My G614 spare is aging just as fast as the ones on the ground, so if I replace mine at the 5 or 7 year mark based on age, I would probably be inclined to go with 5 of the 17.5 wheels and tires. I guess the only other option would be to just replace the spare tire with a cheaper tire, like the westlake, and keep the steel wheel.

Once I get the new tires on, I will take one of the replaced tires as a spare. The rest will go out by the mailbox and by morning they will magically disappear.

If by chance anyone wants them they can let me know. I am in the DFW area, a few miles from treetops. There would be 3 original tires and 1 spare.

Ron, the tires arrived. Thank you. As the FedEx guy was unloading the tires I asked him if he was installing them himself or if he wanted help. He just stared at me. I guess I forgot to order white glove delivery.

Are these "wheels the same as the OEM that come on the 38RL 2015 -16. I'm ordering the unit shortly with 17.5" and the 8000lbs axles. Or can you get matching rims. I was wanting to possibly get one as I want to keep a 2nd spare. Also when I had the MH the rule was 6 years and the tires were no longer safe. Is this the same with trailer tires??

The tires and rims I am pulling off are from 2015 GK. Your welcome to them. But if you ordering the unit with the 17.5 Goodyears, your already in good shape.

This is the wheel. It is used at an OE level but not sure if Redwood uses this wheel or a different one.

So what exactly are you replacing on your Redwood? Just the tires or both tires and wheels? I currently have the 7K axles with the original Marathon "E" tires. My weight on my axles, weighed at the CAT scales, was 10,500 lbs so I don't feel an immediate need to replace the "E"s but I'm always open for an upgrade if opportunity arises. I like to keep my eyes and ears open.

If at 10.5k you upgrade to Gs you shouldn't have tire worries anymore.

FYI, Rick and Mindy have called dibs on the tires. Looks like they have found a good home.

Does anyone have any bad experience on the Sailun tires. The deal is so much better than the Goodyear so that is very attractive. I an probably going to go with the Sailun unless some one has some information that is negative about the Sailun's.

Don't have any input on those tires but if Ron stands behind them I would say they must be good. I still like the GY since they will step up and repair damage done by a blowout if a tire failing so I would make sure the other brand will also do the same.
When I switched out from the Marathons it came with I purchased two white wagon wheel rims and mounted two so now I have three spares with me just in case?
I see your in Naples.... we may be in the Bonita Springs area soon.
