Basic Info Pin #3103: One of the best floor plans in its class that RW has ever built! Ours graces the lead host site at the state trailhead and campground that we manage. Its the very first RV one sees as they enter the campground gate. We sure get a lot of compliments and questions about it by our guest.

I love my full body paint on my Redwood. Ours is done in the black and tan combination.

Interior

Blonde Cherry wood throughout. Absolutely beautiful inside.

Customizations
Our unit had a lot of options built into it at the factory. It apparently was a custom order that the original buyer backed out on when they went to take delivery, so we were told at the dealership. So we bought it new off the lot in a clearance sale, and saved a ton of money verses having had to order the same thing. All I would have done different would have been to go with the white and black, with maroon and silver full body paint combination, which were the colors I originally wanted.

Renovations
none

We believe that since our 36FB is getting up there in thee heavier GVWR ratings, we are much safer pulling it with our little 16,500 lbs Volvo HDT (Heavy Duty Toter) verses a much lighter weight 350 or 3500 dually pickup truck. Especially when it comes to maintaining control of the 5er on snow and ice, rain slick roads, and descending steep mountain grades, or having to pull long upgrade over the mountains. For us, our choice in going with the HDT was to insure having more horsepower under the hood, (I have a 450HP diesel) and a stronger engine brake, much bigger brake drums and brake surfaces for stopping, etc. Finally, the height from the ground and comfort of the larger cab one is afforded in a class 8 tractor. OK, I admit that I got spoiled from all of the years we drove our big rig in our trucking business that we owned, so I had to have a toy truck to play with when I retired from trucking!

Our HDT is a factory built single drive axle tractor with an integrated sleeper, which is very hard to come by. Most HDT's are used commercial fleet trucks that have had their twin drive axles singled out and the frames shortened in the aftermarket shops. Having an ET Senior fifthwheel hitch makes for a really nice ride. We don't even feel the Redwood being towed behind the Volvo!

Favorite Camping Destinations

Ross Prairie Trailhead and Campground in Dunnellon, Fl. and of course Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness Campground. We also love the casino campgrounds in New Mexico, Arizona, and Oklahoma.

Ours are twins!
I agree that this is, or was, the best RW floorplan, apparently RW didn't think so.
We also enjoy casino campgrounds in the same areas.

Someone explain how it always post sideways????
