My reservation was paid in full. I called Encore, not Twin Mills. I told them the event had been cancelled there. The employee talked to the supervisor and they gave me a total refund. Guess I just got lucky this time.

It's always comforting when you see such "consistency" in their policy. What a bunch of scammers, it sounds like. If they haven't learned it already, they will soon learn that we are one big "family" and we TALK about things like this, and justice tends to be served!

If it is decided that they are ripping people off, a quick trip to YELP and other networks and leaving harsh feedback will give them what they deserve.

Sounds like they are in need of capital improvements, which is why they aren't hosting now (50A service). Maybe they are doing it $25 at a time.

I guess I should have called Encore rather than Twin Mills directly. This certainly will be talked about in August I'm sure, but for me right now I'm not going to make a big deal out of it.

One thing though, usaf1949, since you are up $25 first round is on you!

I called Encoe and was told the deposit will stand that I should call Twinmiils directly to have it removed. Regestered at the new camp ground and was told, they do not touch my credit card until arrival. I will wait and see if the exchange changes so I don't get hit as hard.
Looking forward to seing every one again

All set at Shipshewana. Planning on arriving on the 7th. If anyone is heading north for the rally and planning on taking the I-65 through Nashville let me know. Perhaps we can organize a caravan.

See you all in August.

Those of you who cancelled the Twin Mills reservations, did they offer you a refund on your fees? They charged me the full amount up front when we made the original reservation.
Thanks
Will make the changes tomorrow.

Safe travels all

We too had the full amount charged when we made the reservation, Twin Mills refunded the entire amount when we cancelled...we told them that we were canceling because Redwood changed the location, they were aware of the situation.

I paid the full amount when I booked and they refunded that amount - $25 when I canceled. I told them the rally had been moved and they knew they had refunded the entire amount to someone else but would not do that for me.

Perhaps I need to work on my skills of persuasion.....

A Message From Terry & Evada Cooper

This post has been pre-approved by the Admin:

The Professor & I are very happy to be invited back for the 2014 Rally scheduled in August to provide RV technical and RV kitchen related seminars. (this year we are arriving in a 2014 38GK )

Since last summer’s rally, we have spent our time crisscrossing the U.S. doing hands-on RV maintenance training in campgrounds for the RV consumer, RV campground technicians and RV inspectors. Doing all of this plus, professional RV tech training at the dealerships and a few RV Shows has kept us very busy.

The Professor & I have scheduled an intensive 5-day Hands-on live RV maintenance course taking place the week following of our rally in Shipshewana. Who better to spend time with - learning to take care of about 80% of what goes wrong with our rigs – than Terry Cooper who is a RVDA/RVIA Master Certified RV Technician and professional instructor with over 40 years’ experience in the RV Industry.
Located in the Shipshewana South RV Park, August 11th – 15th, this live program will consist of classroom training the first half of the day to learn theory training. Each afternoon is hands-on labs to put your new knowledge to work. This is why we ask for each attendee to have their own unit at this program so each person can learn on their own unit.
Here are the hands-on topics that will be taught:

  • 3 RV Electrical Systems
  • Propane Systems
  • Water Systems
  • Water Heaters
  • Furnaces
  • Air Conditioners
  • RV Refrigerators
  • Exterior

Learning a business model of how to put your new knowledge to work for you is an important part of this program, as well. Each morning for a designated time, learn a business model which provides income as you travel in your RV across America.

Does this sound like something you would be interested in? Read more at www.rvtechcourse.com if you sign up – please add referred by Redwood Rally on your registration page.
Should you have any questions, please address them to me at LadyEcooper@MobileRVacademy.com

If posting questions here on the forums, I will do my best to answer in a timely manner. See you at the 2014 rally!
This course does require a fee and there are a limited number of seats available.

Hi Lady E.

Very glad to hear you will be joining the rally this year. I enjoyed your talks @ the Tampa show in January.

Do you have a list of the seminars you will be giving? Any chance you are taking requests for topics .

Hi Evada ! Looking forward to seeing you and Cooper again !

As an aside, for anyone considering taking the RV Maintenace course - do it if you can. A very intensive week, but at the end of it there isn't much on your coach that you wouldn't at least troubleshoot yourself if not actually doing all the repairs. I know for me, it was worth both the time and the expense many times over. I thought I was pretty well versed in most RV systems but there were a lot of "so that's why it did that" moments !

Say hi to Coop for me !

Hi Ksaltman,

Redwood RV corporate requested our seminar topics awhile back and are coming up with a great seminar line-up for all of you.

However, with that being said, the Professor & I are always looking for input on topics that folks are interested in. So please, do NOT feel bashful about passing your ideas on to us.

Will your ideas be implemented this year? I can't guarantee that will happen. It is always great to receive feedback though.

We are looking forward to being in beautiful Shipshewana and spending time with all of you.

Lady E Cooper

P.S. Thank you, Piper Guy (January 2014 - Eustis, FL class who drove through ice & snow to get to us).... and Shaka (March 2014 - Concan, TX class) We appreciate your positive feedback and are so happy that you can better understand how your rig works and are able to implement the knowledge you've gained. The Professor is among the best of teachers!!! Okay, so I am biased ...but it is the truth!!!

Enjoyed your and Terry's seminars last year, (even though he convinced me that I should spend some money). Hopefully we can make it again this year and collect some more of you wisdom.

I know your pain. After Terry's seminar on RV electrical last year I spent some $$$$ on a surge suppressor. Seriously, very good seminars and looking forward to more this year.

Thanks Evada and Terry for the help with the Refer......electric/gas would run but temp would stay at 70. Did the "Hot Box" overnight and in the morning still 70 :-( Got a block in the coils. One on order 3-5 days. Thought we would be a little further from Concan by now...oh well life is good.
For all out there, I took Terry's class in Concan and it is so worth it for many reasons as Piper Guy stated above. I now have found an added benifit, which I found out this week in Mesquite with ExploreUSA. When dealing with dealers and service departments I'm on a different knowledge level then before the class and it shows. Commuication and respect is in a better place with these folks. They tend to listen because they can see that you have a working knowledge and understanding of RV maintenance. Communication flows better and we all know what that equates to!! Time and $$$
Just one more reason not to hold back on signing up for this class........it has already made our fulltime RV experience so much better!!!
Thanks agian Terry
