log in timer
Is there a way to adjust the time out for being logged in? By the time I finish typing a post, it logs me out and I lose it all.

Can't help you there. What browser are you using? I use Firefox.

I compose longer posts in word then cut and paste.

I have never logged out. Is that a bad thing? The good news is the forum has never logged me out either.

Weird - I use explorer, whatever the current one is. I thought it was a recent change to the forum where it logs me out with inactivity.

I think I use to have that problem also. When you are first logging in, there is a check box labeled "Remember Me" next to the "User Name" dialog box. Be sure to check the "Remember Me" box and that should take care of the issue.

If I stay 'inactive' for a period of time after logging in, it will ask me to log back in to post messages.

Weird, I leave my browser window with the forum open and never get asked to log back in?

I'm using Mozilla Firefox, and when I am using it, I may have several sites open at the same time. (multi-tasker, here)
Not sure if settings are the same, but even with other sites, if I stay inactive long enough i.e. Amazon.com, Samsclub.com, it will ask me to log back in if I've been idle too long.

I use Safari on a Mac, I keep one tab open on this forum and another on the other RW forum almost all the time. Then I use other tabs for other browsing.
I never log off and not prompted to log back on or keep the window active.
I looked at options, I don't see anything that would allow/disallow the site from auto disconnect.

Brad - When you log in do you place a check mark in the "Remember Me" box. Initially I didn't check that box and had to log in every time I return to the forum. Now I check the box every time after I clear out cookies and it automatically logs me in when I open the forum.

This is usually a cookie problem.
If you are having problems logging in, staying logged in, getting logged out at page changes or seeing extra ads or content ads (underlined text with ad links) you are getting logged out when you change pages on the site.
Steps to fix this issue (not all may be needed):
Empty your temp internet files (browsing history),
Delete the Redwood cookies,
Clear your cache,
Log out.
Log back in and click the “Remember Me” button.
If you are still having trouble, you may need to specifically enable cookie exchange with the forum in your browser settings or set your system security setting to med-high.
You may need to close your browser or reboot your computer.
Adios, DIrk

Thanks all, I'll give it a try. Probably should clean it out a little anyway.
Andy and Gus, I tried the "remember me", and it seemed to work yesterday anyway.
