Little help please. How do I:
Update my profile with a picture of my rig?
Upload pictures of projects or improvements?

In photoshop, or other photo editing software I:
- convert file format to JPG
- shrink the picture to 640 pixels, or less
- save and compress file size to about 200K

I then upload the file to an image hosting site - Photobucket, Use, etc. My preference is Use.com, but they all work. Go the option to generate code for copying to forums and select the appropriate code, which is then pasted into your profile or body of the message. Ensure it has IMG in square brackets before and after the string of code.

I normally find I have to tweak the code for it to work properly.

The key is to get a photo imaging site as Andy says. We use picturetrail for no other reason than that was where we started out and it still works great.

I do pay a nominal annual fee to avoid all the free ads that pop up, because we also use the site to upload pics and invite family in to see them. It can be annoying when they get attacked by ads.

You may not require the photoshop steps, depending on camera and format you use.

In my case I shoot in Canon RAW format with a full frame sensor, so each picture is at least 22 Megs. Hence the reason I have to shrink, compress & convert to upload.

don't feel alone! thinking it is an arduous task posting a pic here (why I don't either)

Many sites, (at least of the 20 or so I've visited in the past - including the 'new' redwood site),
do not require 3rd party hosting as this Web waz or wiz or wzx does... you can post in line with advanced posting to manage attachments...

Most do have a limitations on size as they don't want 22m pics but most allow in line posting...
