Recall

Hi, I'm a brand new member of this group. I have a brand new Redwood 3401 r l. I just got notification of a recall regarding a dangerous gas manifold. Does anyone have any Intelligence on this? Should I be concerned about this as a potential danger, prior to having it fixed?

This time of year all that might be using propane would be the fridge, unless you have a residential one, so I'd just close both bottles til I could have it checked. If you have the Norcold fridge it should stay cold enough while traveling unless you open the doors often or travel for 10-12+ hours.

I got the phone call from my dealer as well. The recall is based on the slide coming into contact with either a line or the manifold. I was camping at the time and had to wait almost two weeks before I could get it back to the dealer. I just checked and sniffed every time we either retracted or deployed the slides. Any leak would be easy to smell or sniff I think. Not to mention shutting off the bottles while traveling just made me feel safer. It's at the dealer now.

Called dealer same day we got the recall notice. Waited several days for a return call from someone who knew about the recall. Several more calls, emails later we got on their schedule. Five hour drive to dealer so we did try to schedule other issues to be addressed at same time. Recall issue taken care of, other issues not so much! Dealer had camper for a week.

Almost the same thing happened to me. I brought the vehicle into the dealer to get it repaired. And I asked them to service other problems with the RV. It's been a month and I still don't have the RV back. I am so frustrated with RV service it's unbelievable. By the way it only took him a day to fix the recall issue.
