thanks the shed keeps the trailer cool during the summer and keeps the wind down during the winter

See you're pulling your Redwood with a Ram SRW. I will be buying
a new 39Mb this summer, and will be upgrading my truck. I like
the SRW vs the dually. The truck will also be my main vehicle. So
any thoughts would be great.
Thanks
SRW?, weigh the rear axle when fully loaded, then look at the load rating on your tires.
We went to a DRW a few years ago, and will never go back, but we tow the 36RL a lot, not letting the grass grow under us.
I have to agree with Rod. I had a 2012 F350 SRW, when I bought my 2014 38GK. One trip to the scales told me I was way overweight on the rear axle. I replaced it with a F450 DRW. The main purpose of the F450 (vs the F350) was turning radius .. The F350 DRW would have been fine as far as payload.
Have to put my agreement with Rod and Ken. Traded a nice SRW 2012 F350 for the Dually after finding I was way overweight on the rear tires on truck. Never looked back and will never tow without a Dually. it only takes a week or two to get used to "hips".

To tell you the truth..we will be upgrading soon to a drw as well. It works for now as I do have 4.10 gears in my srw now but the trailer still has a little sway in the rear during travel and the drw will smooth that out. I know I will miss my truck when I trade up because of parking for sure.

We made the change from a SRW to a DRW a few years ago when we had our SOB 5er (it was 1000 lbs. lighter than our Redwood), sure glad we had the DRW when we got the Redwood.
Bought first dually on 1/1/05 & we've had one ever since, they have also been our daily driver since.

Ditto on going from SWD to DWD. After having my 36RL and truck weighed at the 2015 rally I decided to trade our 2012 350 Lariat SWD short bed. Our 2016 3500 HD Silverado DWD long bed High Country is due in next Tuesday. No more overweight worries hopefully. It was ordered with the Reese Elite 24K removable hitch and retractable bed cover. I was going for a 350 King Ranch DWD long bed however my DW liked the body style of the Silverado. She won. The High Country is nice and has all the goodies for fifth wheel towing.

Congratulations on your new truck! You'll be impressed with the handling while you are towing; however, the ride is a little rough when the RW is not following you. : )

Congrats you will like your selection. It is the smoothest riding 1 ton I have driven. Besides you now have the only of the big three that has perfected putting a round peg in a square hole

Thank you. The test drive impressed both of us.
