With the ramps in their storage rack, getting into the High IQ is very simple. There's no need get in and out of the High IQ. There is a 2500# winch that loads and unloads the vehicle.
Safety was one of my primary concerns with the design of the High IQ carry cradle. At just under 2000#, at 31 degrees of incline, the winch has approximately 675# of a rolling load on the winch mechanism, so there is an adequate safety factor. If desired, the winch can be upgraded up to 12,000# very easily.
As soon as the High IQ is winched into place, there are two, 5,800# each load straps on load winches that can quickly be secured around the rear axle. After that, it is much safer to finish the loading procedure. There are front wheel chocks pinned to the frame base. After that, the winch can be released as a final safety.
One of the advantages of utilizing an OTR (Over The Road) Volvo tractor is a more than adequate weight carry capability. Frame and ramp components can be utilized to provide large safety factors. The Volvo gets 6.9 mpg either light or heavy. It rides better heavy.
The whole load or unload process requires about ten minutes.
Having the High IQ during traveling and touring is a complete joy.
